Especially when there is such tender affection behind a platonic hug and kiss that it makes me go all wibbly inside.

Other languages make things sound so romantic, don't you think (except perhaps German - nah just kidding). Possibly because they're exactly that - foreign!

Close - "there is a dead bat blocking the storm drain". Yours means "lettuce, though green, still becomes brown on the outside." (I'm translating freely as I go :p
